Jean Hannon, the first recipient of the Senator James Clark, Jr. Lifetime Achievement Award
Ms. Hannon received this award for being a moving force in the preservation of Ellicott City’s heritage through her "Paint Ellicott City" campaign in 1961; opening the first antique shop on Main Street, at a time when businesses were leaving Main Street for the new Shopping center on Route 40; her work in the 1970’s in creating the Ellicott City Historic District; and the design of the Howard County Flag. Jean’s talents did not end with these endeavors; she was an accomplished and award-winning cartoonist for the Howard County News,

Barbara Sieg, Individual Award
Ms.Sieg was recognized for her work in the restoration and continued preservation of the Whipps Family Cemetery on St.Johns Lane and her work in the founding of the Coalition to Protect Maryland Burial Sites, a state-wide cemetery advocate group working with Maryland legislators.

Paul Bridge, Individual Award
Mr. Bridge received his award for his years of work with the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Museum as a docent, lecturer and writer; as a co-founder and first president of the Maryland National Road Association; and for his work as a charter member of Preservation Howard County and the development of the Annual Top Ten Endangered Sites List.

St, Louis Chapel, Project Award
St.Louis Parish members were recognized for their model restoration and preservation of a historic site. The success of this preservation effort removed the building from Preservation Howard County’s Top Ten Endangered Sites.

Historic Waverly, Inc., Organization Award
The members and board members were recognized for their restoration, preservation and stewardship of this historic building. Board members include: C. Edward Walter, Sharyn Bolinger, Anita Zepp, Col. Edwin Gramkow, Ellen Oppenheimer, and Mary Louis Gramkow.
